Is Apophenia An IDEA Paranormalists Experience?

I have a great buddy that I've featured here in these pages before under the `rantology' tag - and from whom I received another of his famous E-mails in response to `links' I send to him. So, the other day I send to him a `fortean' link about the number 23 which contained itself - many more links. http://blogs.forteana.org/node/119

The past hour has gone by clicking into more absurd depth...
Yet finally getting a real look into the condition(ing) I have:
APOPHENIA: unmotivated seeing of connections
specific experience of abnormal meaningfulness
Holy shit, this hits the nail on the head
Thus I sit here shaking my head
Good thing the delete button is handy......

You see, my friend - definitely has this condition - defined by a term he was unaware of. (BTW, this friend and I have had TWO high strangeness events occur to us together.)


But, his sharing of his digging deep for knowledge - which yielded this term/concept - Apophenia - struck me as a term that ALL folks interested in the paranormal might have an interest in knowing more information about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apophenia


Perhaps most important Apophenia is - "defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness". And, it is also defined as - "is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data."


Indeed, the Wiki article in mentioning other related conditions/phenomena included - Pareidolia, Autistic Savants, and Asperger Syndrome (Bruce Duensing's condition).


To me, all of these `conditions' involves focusing in on `the actualization process of being'. Which, IMO, can trigger `special consensus events' subjectively and objectively. And, which, would include nearly all `paranormal' types of experiences outside of the common consensus.

yet the choice to be apart from Earth seems to rule our understanding
the later being as you would say ludicrous...
When we think of the solar system its usually as being in "outer" space
This notion is absurd

We are "IN" the solar system
so therefore it really is "inner" space!
The Sun being the source and center of our "inner" space!
What a shift if we were able to conceptualize this...
Rather than thinking it is "out" there, see it as being "in" there...

Of course our twisted little pea brains still think
everything is here for us to use aka... natural resources
or: "What time is it?"
bambozzled by 36 billion: the snake oil salesman came to town

Humans Live In Electromagnetic Field Pollution

Photons can be viewed as just dynamic propagated changes in the underlying potential energy/momentum/rotational energy/angularmomentum field that underlies space/time.They have no mass since they are only areas of changing potential.in the field. They are missing the structural field symmetry necessary for mass.

Legalizing Marijuana Would Increase Unemployment And Would Unfairly Interfere With The Free Market System - Rant 305

45% of the justice business in this country depends on the inflow of marijuana arrests to keep judges, police, prison guards, probation officers and other civil servants employed to deal with non-violent criminals. Drug testing companies depend heavily on marijuana laws to market their products all over the country in response to fear based marketing. Drug companies sell expensive drugs that wouldn't be used if the ordinary consumer could replace them with home grown remedies such as marijuana which, although shown to be quite effective, do not generate revenue for corporate entities - which in turn provide money to politicians. Legalizing marijuana is just another attempt at Socialism and we all know where that leads...Communism. Keep marijuana illegal and if possible increase the penalties for possession to something even more profitable for the controllers of the public.

Except for the last six words - this is a copy and paste that I found in a comment section somewhere on the web recently - I believe in response to the recent moves to legalize in California. While OBVIOUSLY satire and a good one at that -- it's great satire because EVERY WORD IS TRUE. About the only twist that I would have added, would have been to point out how the media depends on the advertising revenue from politicians and that if they couldn't report pot busts as `news' - what use would the politicians have at all and what `news' would they fill the drug war time with?

Hello, welcome to Barf Stew. As I told you in Rant 303 - I have a great buddy who can really rip off an over the top E-mail in response to links I send to him. Here, he reacts to the link I sent him of lightweight Katie Couric making Glenn Beck look like a fool with the question --- `What is white culture'. Flower in his response.

"White Culture? This is the euro wig wearing foundations of the country called America. The big money player/plantation owners (WashAdJefMadMon...) who were interested in the milk & honey land grab. It evolved into the railway manifest destiny profit mongering pilfering of more land. Savages just a bit above a beast to be removed to a reservation. Their sacred land? A fitting place to carve the figure heads of these white so called "leaders". Morphing into the slimy oil gas industrialists(white men) who further destroy any natural habitat with more greed and profit as "the american way". This is the "white culture" of suit and tie all powerful businessmen who chainsaw 1,000 year old redwood trees for a patio deck to prop their fat white ass on and sip martinis after a nice round of golf sprayed with pesticide to keep it green and thus our 2000 year old dilemma, the roots of this so called great "civilized" Greco-Roman culture that rolls on its destructive course of zero collecting profit making at the expense of anything sane! This in my opinion is "White Culture".

From time to time, I'm going to share various E-mails that I've gotten over the years that might fit the idea of Barf Stew. This e-mail is from a buddy of mine J.S. Flower - also known as Strouther Wiggins. Now, when J.S. begins to rant, which is rare, it usually is about the failings of the governmental level to address peoples concerns.

As you will read in this upcoming post Mr. Wiggins didn't respond too well well a friend of his sent him photos of the Queen of England posing with every President since Truman. Anyway, here's Flowers response.

In that manifestation we see the total disregard for a comprehensive relationship...
Upon entry into the "new world" rivers were not looked at as the source of life, but rather ways to transport goods and services to remote regions and set up forts. They were a great place too dump whatever and this dumping continues to this day or rather flushing: turds, piss, and now endocrine inhibitors from the morning after pill of an 11 year old who is having her period...or all the over medicated bloated mass of a dem-rep americana invasive species who truly believes that everything is here for us to use because some deity GOD in the sky said so...and don't get down on what I want "to flush away"[there is no away] Mr. Highorse rider who just did his own hypocritical poop... kinda like:"Where does all that window washer fluid go after it gives you a "clear windshield"??? Why would I want to think where it goes as long as I can see the car in front of me???
