The Bitcoin Crash Of 2015

It's becoming a phenomena and feeding on itself.... of course Bitcoin, The Barf, The Stew and the Winners is talking about the collapse in Bitcoin prices... fueled by who knows what... some say the ROI for the miners of Bitcoin is not enough to support the coin (wouldn't that suggest the price will SPIKE HUGELY when demand returns to normal?).... others say the cashing in of all the Christmas coins... all of them might be a tipping point... some are saying that it could drop to 85... the point it took off for the sky in pricing... or  even   50.

In the meantime... the entire CryptoCurrency marketplace may need a `reserve currency' ready to pick up the slack (Paycoins perfect timing?) .... (no way right? wouldn't it be a coin with MUCH larger available coinage?) -- maybe Stellar will go to the STARS? (Moving hugely since the collapse... coins with value, real value will buck the collapse in general.) And of course, all of this could be due to Bitcoin's usage as a commodity by some in the richer element of society... which is seeing a HUGE collapse in some of their commodity holdings... so why NOT sell Bitcoin (to them)..... BTW, I BOUGHT at Coinbase today my largest purchase ever (0.12) at 186 - IMO, the bounce (to 400?) could be only days away.

Bitcoin Touches 400 Dollars Per Coin

In the past 96 hours Bitcoin has dipped below 400 dollars a few times - lots of analysis from the powers that be (the suckout of the Alibaba effect, the rising number of merchants taking it who immediately turn it in for dollars,  the rising competitive landscape in virtual currency too - Apple Pay etc, Alibaba's method.) But, the BS would like to point something out - the shakeout in the virtual currencies hasn't even occurred... when it does the best placed will survive....next, once any of the HUGE e-commerce sites offer to take it - which could be soonish.... the need for a MUCH larger `market cap' than 5 BILLION or so will be needed for world retail trade (one would think). The low, very low transaction costs will make the virtual currencies competitive.  Additionally, the move with ApplePay and such will make folks more and more comfortable with cashless deals. Etc..... So, how much more of a market cap is needed beyond 5-6 billion? 10 times that? 100 times that? 1000 times that? - Are those the final realistic potential values once the transistion is made? Could a TODAY investment in ONE Bitcoin, even at 400.00 - result in a value to the coin in excess of 4,000,000.00? Could even a 4.00 investment in Bitcoin be worth 40K someday?

A note to Barfsters, I bought my first part of a bitcoin this month via the above link to Coinbase (one of the largest exchanges) .05 to be exact (at 591.49) and then .035 (at 523.98) - after you give all the bank info (which is slightly creepy - but you can choose an option where you aren't entering the password - simply wait a few days for the transaction to complete) - you get the bitcoin into your `wallet' in about 4 working days (6 total for me) - they send you an e when its in. So, you build up your amount of bitcoin a bit at a piece, literally..... like a savings account.... except this one has an potential upside. Bitcoin has been relatively stable all year and is establishing a price about 450-600 per full bitcoin. The assumption is that E-bay will take bitcoins in the near future, and the same assumption is that E-bay will dump them as fast as they arrive - which could drive prices lower..... but, IF they hang onto them....... OMG.
