Paycoin - The Rage And The Fade

As always I will try to share the best of what I find when looking into the Cryptocurrency phenomena.... a phenomena reminiscent of the wild west with claims to match any tall tale of yesteryear. Paycoin is just such an example and I have a very good Review From Reddit of who is behind the coin and whether or not fraud was involved in the pre-sale hyping of the `20 dollar' coin..... IF this is all new to you then I know you haven't been a trader at the exchanges in a few weeks as PAYCOIN has dominated the exchanges in all ways... including being raked over the coals in the troll boxes. Again, post after post could be done about this multi week affair... so, just read the recap above.

Yes, I've traded it once, weeks after the 20 dollar price and well after the 10 dollar price...etc... look at the low I bought and sold it at.... (shows pride)

As most of you reading this know... the Bitcoin has taken a serious hit in price immediately following the Christmas shopping season and similar to the beginning of the nosedive in prices a year ago (could it be that the small merchants that started to take Bitcoin at Christmas and who were holding on decided to dump when prices headed south?).... indeed the article I'm positioning in today's Barfstew is a sophisticated analysis of the Bitcoin charts and the picture isn't rosy.... or is it? (the article even reminds of the 85 dollar price when the surge began).. but, interestingly, the same post Bitcoin Prices The Year Ahead did have some interesting quotes I bring to you below out of context:

"I am sorry, we no longer accept cash" - Bank Teller, Chase Bank in San Diego

Ummm...excuse me? Perhaps there is some mistake and I had walked into the Chipotle next door. As I stood there trying to make a deposit, the bank teller notified me that as of February, Chase bank had a new policy that they would no longer accept cash deposits into someone else's account. Even a few weeks later, I am still trying to wrap my head around this concept. Banks….don’t...accept….cash?

This wasn’t my first negative experience with a bank for the day. I had walked into my local Credit Union at 3:30pm and requested to complete a wire transfer. They informed me that it was past the deadline for that day, I would have to come back tomorrow. In an attempt to avoid spending more time at the bank, I asked if I could do all the paperwork and have it go out tomorrow. “No, you can’t do that. We don’t have the systems in place for that. You will have to just come back tomorrow”. "Tomorrow" was actually Saturday so I would really have to come back on Monday.

Annoyed, I decided I would just go make a cash deposit. Easy, right? Wrong. There was a line of 10 people to see the bank teller so I figured I would just go to the ATM. The transaction I needed to complete was for $1,100 but I was notified at the ATM of my withdrawal limit of $500 per day so, back inside. After 20 minutes of waiting in line, I was finally able to access my money after filling out a piece of paper. And with this accomplished, I was finally on my way to Chase bank.

It’s 2014, are we really still using pieces of paper?

Could Bitcoin Cause A Crash?

It's a CNBC link - giving three pretty weak reasons for the possible crash..... indeed, the real risk, not in the story - is a crash in the value of Bitcoin AFTER a super-inflation period - which would be possible IMO if the currency began to service the `non-banking' world of supposedly 2.8 billion. (Banking The UNbanked) Then IF it crashed, IMO, it could be ugly - or - replace the fake money system now in existence....... The BS. Here's the link - Bitcoin Crash. Speaking of crashing, the price of a Bitcoin is at it's lowest point in nearly a year... to some, the time to get out... to others the time to get In - At Coinbase, One Off The Three Bitcoin Handlers Working With PayPal. Okay, now for some MORE Bitcoin related `fun' - after you buy some virtual currency - Bitcoin..... then you get interested in the whole shabang..... and find out that there are HUNDREDS of E-Currencies, with all kinds of market caps and methodologies.... THEN you discover that for a mere PITTANCE (I am playing .04 Bitcoin, about 25 bucks when I deposited it) you can play the `market' of E-Coin at Coin-E. Some of these E-coins are moving over 10% a DAY as the whole market gets moving.
