Understanding The BS Economy (of America)

As Barfsters know, this is also a forum for pushback to the viewpoints generally shoved down our throats by the MSM. One of these view points is about the general state of the economy..... as if it can be summarized in a few words.

Now, one place you can hope to find a more realistic idea of the general and specific economy is to `follow the money' and in America that means one thing - CNBC and it's many `analysts' who all try to tell you their version of the `money truth' as they see it - and then they project that viewpoint onto the government figures about the economy. And, if you don't read between the lines, and aren't a true follower of the money.... you are probably of the pumped up MSM opinion that `things are steadily improving' ... which is the standard positioning you hear.

And, while this post isn't about some predicted crash about to occur - it is about pushing back on some of the various viewpoints that are in such concordance that `things have been fixed' from the Great Recession.... take Jim Cramer's total mystification last week about what appears to be a softening hiring and jobs outlook.

Now, to put together a possible overall view of the positions on CNBC - to be right - one probably needs to pick and  choose the best ideas of each logical position offered about what the official numbers mean... like the unemployment numbers, hiring numbers, corporate profits, interest rates, and housing figures and refinance. You know, for a total picture. And, here's my take....

As we all know, the Fed's purpose of printing trillions in fake money was two-fold, - to save the system at the beginning, and to `inflate asset prices' after that point of time. As you know, they are STILL doing so in the 3rd phase of this money pump at a 30 billion a month rate or so... and as you know, that is stated to be ending (unless the government numbers don't allow it to) by the end of the year if not sooner.

Now, WHO's asset prices did the Fed raise... well, of course the folks who have assets.... generally the well off, pension funds, etc. And yes, the man with 401K's would benefit too and feel better. It was hoped that all this fake euphoria would spill over into other assets, like housing, and of course that too is running it's  course... it's almost like we are all being brought back to some sort of equilibrium like we had before the BUST of 2007-2008. (2009) - Which, of course, the government figures had us OUT of recession and bad times in no time - ..... and NO ONE believed a word of it. Not a word. They'd barely be able to get away with it now, except for the pounding in by the MSM to those less informed, and not following the money trail.

Of course, the `comeback' for those with money - is not viewed as favorably by those NOT in the money.... a very sizable portion of America. A LARGER portion than existed BEFORE the fraudulent bust of 2008 in banking and housing (and pension funds etc). They busted a part of middle class America and then layered on the debt level on the young who had no jobs to find .... so they, the young, took the government money for a college education that again had no jobs...... and so went even the mobility to escape out of the parents home in many instances.... yet the big money boys are somehow looking for NEW people who are moving up into HOMES?.... yeah, right.

And, more of this also plays out in and because of the inflated figures of HOME values on both coasts metropolitan areas.... remember, since 80% of California's homeowners took the free/fake money of 2003-2006 ... it is the top end that needed to be made whole(r) again... leaving... those in homes that were MUCH more towards the median in value, elsewhere in the country... getting the shaft... those will not recover as much if ever. And in some communities... like the rust belt... it is the bust of a NON ending Great Recession (with folks too poor to get up and move). Detroit and Cleveland come to mind...... where homes that were `cheap' but beautiful in 2006, for 110K, are still at 65K today, and with no prospect of moving any higher. (With Many 20K dollar homes on the next street.) - Where are these folks? Why aren't their concerns on TV?

So, the bottom line is FOR GROWTH - you need either the FED's fake bucks..... or MORE of the middle and working class to somehow be able to be freed from debt and interest to the money centers. Something the powerbrokers will never do. A good 2/3's of all Americans are still too scarred from 2008 to trust the politicians to take care of their interests. To scarred to move, to buy a car, to buy a house... a built in caution with little improvement is the new normal MR Cramer.

The demographics are not of any help, and getting less likely to portray a comeback in the economy, as the new Hispanic class of working folks load up on having multiple children. And no real change in government policy even asking black males to re-enter the work force after decimating their culture via the so-called drug war. (Read police, lawyer, system profits).

What's the new mystery to the talking heads and powers that be?

Where have all the workers that dropped out of the economy during the fraudulent bust of 2008 gone? (I'd mention the increased suicide rate but the media won't.)..... Wouldn't the OBVIOUS answer be `from the middle class'? Or would `into poverty' be more your cup of tea? While the 100 degree summers and 30 below winters beckon those to North Dakota to be part of the dirty oil boom.

Bottom line - there will be no growth within what was once known as the middle class.... only a very slow downward slide. There will be no increase in household formation as the tables and graphs will all need to be re-adjusted.... and the `boom' in auto sales? Well, the surviving middle class is indeed replacing those 11 year old cars.... then, the sales will dip again and the wonder will be.... is the driving of the car no longer affordable to the `middle class'?

Oh, and why oh why isn't America hiring? .... One reason ... there is NO increased demand... and won't be....

A Rant About The Plunging Housing Starts

As a near daily listener to CNBC, with the assumption that they are less political than other stations, as MONEY wants `truthful' information to trade upon - the other day I was once again struck by how out of touch some of the analysts are. But, IF the Republican philosophy is full of crap... they will say it.... we all know the Democrat agenda is full of crap... and they will say it. But, that said, it is `funny' in a sad way that many of the commentators simply do not have a clue as to what is really happening in our society. Why folks are living at home, delaying relationships and kids.

Case in point... there was an analyst on talking about why the plunge in new housing starts was going to be overcome "when we get back to home creation of 2007 levels". He literally didn't KNOW that those days WILL NEVER RETURN as he lives in - most likely - a neighborhood unaffected by the Crash of 2008. Here - let me clue him in to one middle, upper middle class neighborhood (great schools for Ga) in one of the overbuilt cities (read involved in fraud) in America - Marietta Georgia...... In this neighborhood of a short street and 2 cul-de-sacs --17 homes.... FIVE went belly up eventually - all occupied by long time owners - foreclosed.... empty.... NONE had ever been empty in the past. (Three are still empty and for RENT).

These folks know that the SHRINKING white population and the knowledge that the illegals will not be buying homes (the only segment that may be growing again) - in combination with the debt load for the young generation... guarantees that for a formally middle class young adult... about the only way they will ever save 20% for a downpayment... is NEVER - and that the only way they will `own' a home (let alone a new one) is to `inherent' their parents home.

There is NO need for NEW HOMES in America and the upper class, even analysts whose job it is to know,  hasn't even figured that out yet. The BS continues.

And, the vets feel largely the same way (slightly less so) - find out more about veterans feelings including their feelings about President Obama. What level of disservice to the community does a TV station do by making ALL `military' stories assume full support for the actions the troops are sent to do? The Obama Recovery - And the Booming Need For Street BoardSign Men, Gold Buying Shops, and, Thrift Stores

A few days ago BS brought you the real deal about what might happen if the US Congress does not pass some sort of debt ceiling deal - http://barfstew.blogspot.com/2011/07/bs-of-usa-running-out-of-money.html - any number of things, but, NOT missing a payment on our debt interest - evidently. But, today, BS would like to comment on the obvious, that the media avoids at almost all cost, when talking about the current economic mess - what BS now calls The Obama Recovery.

Now, remember, BS hates BOTH parties - yet has NO interest in vacilating with the `great independent majority' between the two (actually one) parties either. As NEITHER party is worth the symbol that represents them - a Jackass and a bloated Elephant - well, come to think of it, perhaps they are worth those symbols. Indeed, if NOW isn't the time for the MSM to call the bluff of the worthlessness of the politicians and the two political parties, when is? (Since when should America be governed by parties with at most 25% individual support by the people? How can there NOT be another voice?)

As evidently everyone but the MSM knows, the only recovery since 2008 has been to the bankers and those retail stores of desperation - gold buying shops and thrift stores; then again, there has been a 4000% increase in the streetwalking billboard people, usually trying to get you to sell your gold, or for the going out of business furniture store (or similar). And, everyone knows, even though the MSM hardly mentions it - that the Obama Recovery was nothing more than saving the state governments asses during the downturn, with money to keep the state workers still collecting money instead of getting cut, and unemployed, like everyone else,  like they needed to be in 2008.

Now the new MSM term is a `jobless recovery' and the new worry of `slipping back' into a recession ---- hey MSM, get a f'ing clue - there has been no recovery. What a worthless MSM. Wouldn't NOW have been a good time to feature some folks who are NOT republicans and NOT democrats? Like a few Libertarians?

But, in about a year or so - both of these worthless parties will ask for your votes - on the government mouthpiece - the MSM. Please; BS asks you to -  for ONCE --- don't waste your vote by clicking ANY republinut or democrap. PLEASE. And know that as the MSM tells you that you waste your vote by NOT voting or voting for a third party - that the REAL waste is voting for the same worthless parties over and over.
------------------------
Frankly, I'd have the debt ceiling raised,..... oh, perhaps 500 billion dollars - so that it would sink in how the congress is overspending - again and again. Until we get some representatives who AREN'T repo's or demo's. To BS, every few months going thru the same charade may actually do some good at enforcing how worthless these members of congress actually are.
------------------------
Can the day be far off when the oil and energy producing states say ------ SEE YA -------- to the US Government? Why should those states support states like California? Wouldn't a `new country' comprised of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and such be much more stable? Maybe the south itself should break off again? How long before the US `aquires' Canada and the oil producing areas of Mexico?
------------------------
Indeed, how bad are things really? -- Well, read this ----->
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/why-the-debt-crisis-is-even-worse-than-you-think-07272011.html - yes, THAT worthless.
Here's a tease:
Even the $4 trillion “grand bargain” on debt reduction hammered out by President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio)—a deal that collapsed nearly as quickly as it came together—would not have gotten the U.S. where it needs to be. A June analysis by the Congressional Budget Office concluded that keeping the U.S.’s ratio of debt to gross domestic product at current levels until the year 2085 (to avoid scaring off investors) would require spending cuts, tax hikes, or a combination of both equal to 8.3 percent of GDP each year for the next 75 years, vs. the most likely (i.e. “alternative”) scenario. That translates to $15 trillion over the next decade—or more than three times what Obama and Boehner were considering......

Osama's Dead - Alternative NON MSM Views

Part of the comments to one post - the HIGHEST rated as of yesterday on Libertarian on Reddit:
It seems like Bin Laden's gotten the last laugh in the end, doesn't it? With the last "bogeyman" of the War on Terror out of the picture, what are we left with and at what cost?

Hundreds of thousands dead.
Trillions of dollars spent. A deeply-entrenched military-industrial complex.
A bureaucratic and administrative state authorized by the PATRIOT Act which now has the power to actively subvert the Constitution for the sake of "national security".
A paranoia and climate of fear actively promoted by statists to further their lust for power and agency.
A willing public that is all too eager to sacrifice essential liberties for temporary security.
An Arab world which is now entirely justified to view the United States for what it is - an aggressive, interventionist and coercive empire.

No end in sight for our current conflicts which have never been authorized according to the Constitution, and a seemingly "legitimiate" cassus belli authorized by the United Nations Security Council in Libya, effectively subverting American sovereignty in the matter.

If Bin Laden intended even a fraction of these goals when he and his minions planned 9/11, then I'm sure he thought it was all worth it in the end. I see little cause for celebration past this obvious propaganda to somehow frame the Iraq and Afghanistan wars - with all the blood and money that it cost - as all worth it now that Bin Laden's dead. This doesn't change shit, in the same way that people don't give a shit that Castro's probably dead already, yet we still maintain an embargo against Cuba.

Could Trump Be A False Flag Plant Candidate?

Barf Stew finds the politicians of the last few decades to be largely worthless - as many do - but, as you rarely hear on the MSM (due mainly to the revenue from the political ads the candidates -- never upset an advertiser): therefore, BS will make sure to be a counter weight to this now and in the future. So, today's first link is to the above idea: http://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/gwlu6/donald_trump_is_a_falseflag_candidate_out_to/
Here's a tease of one rant:
the correct question is who really believes there is a difference beyond rhetoric and positions on entertainment-value political football issue between the high democratic party and the high republican party officials?

hello?
this shit has been going on for how many decades now, republican after democrat and democrat after republican, still no change. the official political system of the US at the higher public office level is a game-show to distract an ignorant population, it is wholly owned and operated by international finance and corporations, and will NEVER be used to change anything for the better, regardless of which one of their employees we elect, while the media is used to disguise the extent of political indifference between the major parties with extremist talking-heads at either end of the spectrum and candidates like Sarah Palin/Obama.

The Real Difference Between Rep and Dem Politics - Rantology BS Style

I was pleased to see this on the front page of Reddit - seems another person has figured out how most of the game of politics in the USA is played. Anyway, here's a copy and paste of a great Rant:
Democrats cite ethics, but only hold the everyday person accountable to those ethics. Republicans cite morals, but don't expect the everyday person to follow them

Democrats cite social welfare, but only follow through with corporate welfare. Republicans cite liberty, but only want liberty for big business.
Democrats appeal to the youth, then pander to the old. Republicans appeal to the old, then take away their benefits.
Democrats encourage a centralized, then spend money on programs/legislation which decentralize social programs. Republicans encourage decentralized government, then spend money on programs/legislation which centralizes authority.
Democrats believe themselves to be intellectual and progressive, but actually are too dumb to see that nothing has changed. Republicans believe themselves to be patriotic and libertarian, but are actually allowing their nationalism to squash their liberties.
Democrats say they want to end the war, then funnel more money into it. Republicans say they want to end useless social programs, then cut useful ones and create useless ones.
Democrats want to strengthen education, but don't fund it. Republicans want to strengthen the economy, but don't fund it.
Democrats tell me to vote for them because they will bring hope and change, then bring neither. Republicans tell me to vote for them because they will end the attack on our freedoms, then go out and attack my freedoms.
Democrats tell me to vote for them because nothing could be worse than another Republican. Republicans tell me to vote for them because nothing could be worse than another Democrat.

I have had enough of people truly believing these parties are actually different when they both are moving this country to collapse, perhaps that one party is just more efficient at doing so than the other. I am tired of being told to choose the lesser of two evils, because they are equally evil. I am tried of people being at eachother's throats over political arguments which for all intents and purposes are just straw men. I am tired of being told these parties care about me, when clearly they just care about themselves and their corporate donors. I am tired of the name calling and insults, when it doesn't help us re-build America. I am tired of the media and all their bullshit, and I am tired of people who make decisions based on what the media tells them.

I will be voting 3rd party for as long as I have the right to vote, I hope you will too.

The RADICAL 30 Trillion Dollar Bailout Solution!

I have no idea if all the economics of this mans ideas are sound or not - what I do know is that it is about the only `solution' that I've even read to the incredible mess the US and World is in concerning the internal and world debt situation. It is a barf stew solution that has almost NO chance with democrats or republicans as they firmly have their collective heads far up their collective butts. It is not even a solution that I'd want.

All that said, it is a rant at the least - about how radically the populous is starting to come to think about the mess the politicians, governments and big money players have made. This is the original link - but - I present it here in it's verbal entirety too (original link has a popup - but has graphs and pics and video too). http://beforeitsnews.com/story/186/785/30_Trillion_for_Quantitative_Easing_QE_2_Its_Time_to_Get_Radical.html

Commentary From the Publisher of Before It's News

Yes, it's time to get radical on the economy and no, I'm not talking about going full Karl Marx -- the politicians in Washington appear well down THAT road.. The next set of bailouts could run $30 trillion (as I'll explain in a bit) and that's probably not the end of it because all the future government entitlements are well over $100 trillion. This is not only unaffordable, any attempt to make good on even a small portion of this is a fool's errand. In addition to attempting an impossible task that is doomed to fail, we're bailing out the wrong people! Hopefully, this article will get you thinking -- feel free to leave a comment and help our discussion.

I'm talking about taking a serious detour from the way things have been done and proposing a radical restructuring of the way government and money work, as well as, a massive clean up of the mess we've gotten into. What I am proposing will completely eliminate the Federal debt, change the way government does business and end the banking cartel that destroys countries, finances war and and causes excessive consumer spending. It will completely change the role of the Federal government and restore liberty. It could be replicated wherever fiat money systems are in force in almost any country.

The problem is one of debt and who gets debt relief. Today, the U.S. government now has a debt of $14 trillion and is adding another $2 trillion per year - states and consumers have a mountain of debt, as well. It has now reached the point where this debt can never be repaid, at least in anything resembling today's money or at any kind of real interest rate. Judgement Day is coming for the U.S. dollar. There will be a debt default, the only question is who will pay and what and how they will pay. This kind of thing never ends well for individuals or society. The problem is we've spent trillions of dollars to "fix" the problem in the past couple of years, but we've given the money to the people who created the problem in the first place and yet we still have even more debt now than we started with!

It's not very complicated, we just need to stop spending money we don't have, eliminate the debts, maintain sound and honest money and a have a rational government that doesn't take a big chunk of the economy or make major changes every time there is an election. This much smaller government will allow individuals and businesses to make investments, put people to work and plan ahead.

Because these most basic principles are being violated on a daily basis, there is no way the economy will get back on track until they are remedied. If they are not remedied and things continue down the present path, we could see a modern currency collapse similar to Germany in the 1920's (the Weimar), where money became worthless and the entire economy collapsed. This led to economic misery for millions and eventually WWII.

Children playing with stacks of worthless money in Germany,

The best way to start the stove...with stacks of freshly printed money!

The end result has always been the same, whether in the Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe. Debts must eventually be extinguished as they are today in Zimbabwe -- they didn't get that way by being repaid -- as everyone knows, the currency collapsed after a classic hyperinflation that resulted in the end of the Zimbabwe dollar as a currency and now all debts in that currency are null and void.

The final banknote issued by Robert Mugabe's socialist utopian government. Now a collectable on eBay, you can't spend it anymore. It used to buy local bus fare but is now worthless as currency.

Another key point; Germany at the time of the Weimar was a defeated power, but still was a world leader in patents, technology and industry. They were one of the most developed countries in the world at the time. If it can happen there, it can happen here.

The Mess We Are In

During the last election, people voted themselves money from the Treasury, at least they thought they did:
Peggy Joseph, who is probably going to be very disappointed with the way things will turn out.

The problem is, the Treasury was empty. There was no money because it's gone. The banks are insolvent, the government is completely insolvent and most people have too much debt they will never be able to pay back. As we saw from the Zimbabwe example, there's never a free lunch. There has to be massive failure and as we saw from the effects of the first round of bailouts and quantitative easing, printing more money and giving it to the people who caused the problem in the first place is an incredibly bad idea.

Stop the Foolishness NOW - or Spend Another $100 Trillion

To date trillions have been spent bailing out companies and banks that made foolish business decisions and now the taxpayer is responsible for the multi-trillion dollar mess. Leaving a large debt that can't ever be paid back to children and the unborn who can't even vote yet is immoral, besides being economic insanity. The problem has only gotten bigger.

According to an article in yesterday's UK Telegraph, the next set of QE2 bailouts could run $30 trillion with absolutely no guarantee it will work!!

As Ambrose Evans-Pritchard said:

Here is a back-of-an-envelope guess by David Greenlaw at Morgan Stanley on what the Fed can expect from a second blitz of bond purchases, or `Shock & Awe’ as he calls it.

If Ben Bernanke does a further $2 trillion (on top of the $1.7 trillion already in the bag) the yield on 10-year US Treasuries will drop 50 basis points to around 2.2pc.

GDP growth will be 0.3pc higher than otherwise in 2011 and 0.4pc higher in 2012.

The unemployment rate will be 0.3pc lower in 2011 and 0.5pc lower in 2012 — (in other words drop from 9.6pc to 9.1pc, ceteris paribus).

That looks like trivial returns for a collosal adventure into the unknown, with risks of dollar flight and mounting Chinese suspicions that the US intends to default on its external debts by debasement.

I had dinner recently with a former Goldman Sachs hedge fund guru, and while I can’t remember the exact details through a fog of Mersault Premier Cru, I am pretty sure he said it would take $30 trillion to do the job – given the scale of wealth destruction from the US property crash and ferocity of debt deleveraging still to come.

Ambrose is hoping the Premier Cru fog was thick and that he didn't remember the number correctly because that $30 trillion sum is 50% of the world's GDP! But I'm betting his memory, fog and all, was correct.

There is no guarantee they won't be back for QE3 and another $100 trillion or more to fatten their wallets. A word of advice to Ambrose; next time the Goldman hedgies are buying, grab the wine list and order the Montrachet -- it's a better wine and you might want to get a few of them for what I'm going to suggest next...

If they are seriously considering tossing around that kind of money, they should just fix things once and for all...

Abolish the Federal Reserve and restore the creation of money to its constitutionally mandated place without interest -- the U.S. Treasury. At the same time, the government will issue $14 trillion of new money to pay back all outstanding U.S. Treasury debt. In addition, Congress will need to pass a law banning future indebtedness by the federal government because the government will just issue the money directly from that point forward. There will never be another federal government debt and the government will never have to pay interest on debt because there won't be any debt. It's that simple.

Do an accounting of the gold in Fort Knox and other government depositories and revalue it to its true value (currently on the books at $42.22 per ounce), it will probably end up somewhere between $10,000 and $50,000 per ounce. Eliminate the legal tender laws that force citizens to accept funny money and allow full gold interchangeability with the currency (gold and silver would freely circulate alongside government issued paper money). This will finally keep the politicians honest about the money they are spending because there will be a competitive alternative -- gold and silver. As we all know, monopolies are never good for anyone but the monopolist. The politicians will be free to issue as much money as they would like, but the citizens are not compelled to accept their wampum.

Government (federal, state and local) will need to slim down to less than 10% of the economy (it's currently 43% of GDP and growing) and government services will be cut except for traditional defense and food -- the government would still provide basic food to people who are hungry. Here's a coincidence (not); the last time it was that size, was 1917, around the time of the founding of the Federal Reserve (1913). Here's the chart:

The size of the U.S. Government continues to grow like an out of control biology experiment.

Welfare recipients will cease to exist because once a final lump sum payment (their final 90 day check) is made with the newly issued currency, there will be no more welfare checks. Same thing for Medicare. Cancel social security and issue a one time lump sum of newly printed money to everyone who paid into the system. Pay them back the amount they paid into the system plus a nominal interest rate. It's more money than they will ever see from this Ponzi scheme and it's certainly being honest with the citizen taxpayers.

Do the same for all government pension funds. Participants would be repaid what they paid into their pension. The government wouldn't pay another cent to anyone, as they could take their money and invest it themselves (or have their pension funds invest for them). Defined benefit would cease to exist.

Finally, the banks are mostly insolvent and we will make good on the government's promise of FDIC, even though it is completely out of money today, too. There are about $7 trillion worth of deposits and the government would issue that money to the savers that the banks aren't good for -- let's call that $2 trillion. The savers would be free to leave the money at their bank, convert it to gold or silver or move it somewhere else. They'd best pay attention to the condition of their bank because there won't be any more insurance on their deposit. The weakest banks will fold overnight.

People could use the money they receive from this program to pay off their debts and in one fell swoop, the debt problem is solved. These people would receive trillions in cash, enough to pay back the $1.2 trillion in outstanding credit card debt, and the bulk of the $15 trillion of mortgage debt.

Here's what it will cost:

Federal debt repayment: $14 trillion
Social security repayment: $ 2.6 trillion (per the U.S. ssa.gov website)
Welfare Final Payments: $2 trillion (I'm feeling generous to people like Peggy Joseph, above)
Medicare Final Payments: $2 trillion
FDIC Bailout: $2 trillion (this number is a SWAG, the total insured amount is $7 trillion)
Public Pension Bailout: $1 trillion (per Bloomberg)
Total: $23.6 trillion

About 20% less than the cost of the suggested QE2 bailout. If you include a 25% contingency, you will still be even with the banker's estimate of the cost of the next round of bailouts.

In this scenario, the people who lent the government money will be paid back, as will people who honestly worked and saved. People who did foolish things will have to pay for their mistakes. People who are dependent on the system will have 90 days to get their lives in order and they will need to figure out what to do for themselves. That won't be the government's problems anymore. Charity will have to make an immediate and large step up.

That's it. The government will be out of the debt business and people's lives, there will be plenty of money in circulation and after a few months, the economy will start to boom. Why? Taxes will be incredibly low, people (not banksters) will have money in their pockets and they will pay down their debts and start over. With fewer regulations, businesses will flourish.

Let's talk about what the government won't do. With a much reduced budget of only 10% of the economy, many things that have been going on for far too long will need to be tossed overboard:

- With the one time payments outlined above, there will be no more welfare, medicare, FDIC or social security

- No corporate welfare, no more agricultural support programs -- the government will simply purchase food from farmers for it's program to support the hungry. Farmers would be free to plant whatever they wanted to.

- The futile war on drugs. Eliminate all drug laws and apply an excise tax, just like alcohol and tobacco. Immediately release all non-violent drug offenders from prison. This should reduce the prison population by 40% over night. By the way, the modern "imprison people for putting things into their bodies" started about the same time as the Federal Reserve....1914!

- Immediately terminate all government unions. They are part of the problem.

- End the expensive foreign wars. Pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan immediately and close 80% of all U.S. bases in other countries.

- Eliminate laws and government agencies that don't strictly follow the constitution. Goodbye Department of Energy, Education, etc. and return these functions to the states where they belong. Eliminate the EPA. Eliminate at least 50% of the laws on the books -- there are so many that even the lawyers and judges can't keep up anymore. Eliminate the Department of Homeland Security, etc. etc.

- Eliminate the IRS and rely on a 10% national sales tax.

- Shut down all government medical programs by transitioning them to local charities.

- End welfare, the practice of giving people money for nothing. Your illegal immigration problem will go away automatically.

- Provide a minimal amount of government food, i.e. small box of rice, cans of beans, tea, etc. to keep people from starving.

What will replace all these things? Real charity will become a social responsibility again, not a growing government function. People will be responsible for their actions and not be able to shift responsibility. Banks and businesses will think twice about doing crazy things because they will go out of business, not get a bailout.

If you think this is impossible, you are correct. The system would never give $30 trillion to make the hard working people and savers whole, when it could go into the hands of bankers and the politically well connected. When the people have control of the money, the politicians can't reward them for their vote.

The politicians who could enact these changes will lose much of the power they presently enjoy and they would have to serve others, not themselves and unless there is a complete change in the way the universe works, this will never happen.

Let's not blame everything on our public servants. Moral values have slid down so far they have reached the low level of today. People still believe that things are always better when you spend money you don't have and it's even better when you get it from someone else without having to work for it yourself. Everybody would like to believe they can get something for nothing.

The risk of continuing the way we are is that we will end up with exactly the same situation that I just described with all the social unrest, riots, wars, etc. that entails. If we were to do this in a controlled fashion that puts the people who were ethical, hard working and honest in the position of running the future, things might turn out better.

It'll never happen. Why would greedy bankers and politicians not try to get their hands on another $30 trillion and continue their game of making everyone else their debt slave?
