Time Travel - the subject so esoteric - it is every science and science fiction readers - favorite subject. And, as Barf Stew readers know, in `time travel' - characters can be thrust `forward in time' (to our Jetson's future) - `backward in time' (historical or ancient Earth; but always to a REAL reality that was `happening then') - or - even to `parallel times' of realities that `could' have happened in the past, present, or future. The reality where there is Freewill. The reality where one can change history - to not have Lincoln at the theater that night - to change Kennedy's plans on Nov. 22nd. - you get the point.
Indeed, many people like to believe that `time travelers from our future' may be the `answer' to UFO's and any number of `wo-wo' subjects. And, like many esoteric subjects, the ideas that surround `time travel', have just the right science foundation of `relativity' to give everyone a license to stand on for their conjectures.
Meaning, because Einstein was able to convey to the public - that a `spaceman' could leave in a ship going nearly the speed of light and return to Earth in what would seem to be - say 8 Earth Years to the `astronaut', could `return' to Earth and find all his relatives dead for decades to centuries. It is the common `time traveler' that we all have grown up knowing is true.
That `spaceman' `traveled' into the `future'. And, indeed, the spaceman did travel `around' the fabric of space-time in a manner that `for him' - gave him a presence in a here-now time-cone that would have been unthinkable at his birth. So, in that way - time travel is possible - in theory.
In theory. Because, of course, in the intervening period while the spaceman was traveling == the Earth could have blown up. There is NO guarantee that the local-space of a location to `return to' will ---- be there for return. (Well, the space itself would be there but it may not be on the surface of a planet.)
But, let's not deal with that messy stuff.
But, you see the problem, right? Any `future' that we are to `go to' - needs to be a location on a planet - preferably our planet. Not only that - preferably in a temperate zone on the planet, preferably on land, preferably in a place with mobility (not a prison), preferably in places we are familiar with (our hometown) and ideally in a specific location (our home or future home).
Let's say we only wanted to go 20 minutes into the past or future.
Now, we know that the `specific location' (our room) will be on a rotating planet - so factor that in. On a planet that is moving around a star (our sun). Whose's star is moving around a galaxy (milky way) - and whose's galaxy is - itself - moving in a `direction' (with other galaxies close to it). Oh, btw, make sure to factor EACH of these effects as meaning factoring more movement (space) than the previous one. (Earth's rotation is slower than the Earth's movement around the sun, etc.).
So, getting to THIS ROOM, just 15 minutes before - or in the future - is going to take a `projection' that is perhaps `millions of miles' - from our `current' location. And, not only that, if we are lucky enough to get the general area - everything has to be perfect for us to land in our ROOM. Seems to be getting a little cumbersome, right?
We haven't even begun.
this TOP LEVEL HEAVY link that will enable you for ONCE and for all to understand WHY time-travel is impossible as described in the movies. Indeed; this link goes way way beyond that -- this link tells what is going on at the cellular level of humans --- how every electron we have is replaced over time by other electrons. How cells are made perhaps of the smoke of your uncles pipe from 2 years ago. THAT is how weird `life' is at the time-space level of cells.
The above link suggests to me that EVEN if you were able to account for the exact location in the future to travel to - with the `guarantees' above (still a Earth to land upon) - how would you arrive from NOW to the next instant (years in the future) without acquiring your uncles pipe smoke for your body cells that will have replaced those electrons? Would the `time traveler' even be YOU?
But, let's not deal with that messy stuff. That Barf Stew.
Indeed, time travel makes the parts of the `paranormal' run; - ghosts from the past, Guru's from our future, Or Mystic Wisdoms that are channeled from today's (the current) always ascended Masters. It's almost irresistible evidently. And, if it isn't `time travelers' it's interdimensional beings. (That are sharing our space - right here and right now.)
For example, recently there was an internet sensation of a `time traveler' - a `too hip dresser' in an old-time picture.
And, obviously, this hipster - would have went from our current into the past - instead of our current, into our future (which science allows with speed near the speed of light - however science doesn't allow travel into the past at any speed). But, as you know, if that was possible - we'd have seen many pictures over the last 175 years that would have `travelers' embedded in them. (But, remember, that `space', with that Earth, isn't HERE at all - that Earth would have been perhaps several light years from here - and would have had to have been traveled for that picture in a moment.)
How loud can you say - Barf Stew?
But, even these `possibilities' normally call for harnessing - the energy of a solar system or sun or black hole. AND, normally arent' taking YOU to the past or future - but to a distant NOW somewhere.
And, isn't it GOOD that the past can't be changed? Because IF the past could be changed - would it have EVEN BEEN REAL?
